I have recently developed a curiosity for the magical world of the Arctic. The power and structure of the monumental white expanse of the frozen Arctic, is one of the only places on earth where human inhabitants have not yet changed the landscape. However, due to global warming this magnificent land could disappear, causing devastation throughout the world. I would like to visit this beautiful place and one day make a difference in the awareness of climate change. By working collaboratively with designers, scientists, environmentalists and the public, I would like to create a brand which promotes global awareness of climate change and it’s impacts.

I am planning to go travelling in the summer to India , as I am eager to explore a new and interesting place which has a completely different culture to British society. During my degree course I would like to experiment with print making as I haven’t used etching or screen printing in my work yet. I am also interested in trying animation as I have had a brief introduction to Flash, but haven’t yet successfully mastered it. During my foundation I have progressed in the way I think about design and develop my ideas, as previously I have been educated in fine art and photography, so having the chance to do a graphic design based foundation has helped me develop my style of work in the right direction.

 I am very interested that your course offers an international trip, I think it‘s important for designers to travel so as to broaden there horizons and generate new ideas from different cultures and aspects of society. I have noticed that a lot of your graduates have successfully entered a career after university, this is very reassuring as I hope to enter a career as a book or magazine illustrator after I complete my degree.
